Cheesy Pull Apart Bread

This “Cheesy Pull Apart Bread” I baked a few days ago was a massive hit in my home!

Long time ago I used to bake a lot of different types of breads, biscuits, pastries and many more things but somehow after coming back from CIA (Culinary Institute of America) I stopped baking and concentrated more on culinary over baking. Even on my jobs I was always cooking never baking!

But recently after buying Thermomix I thought I will give one of my favourite recipes (it was this Cheesy Pull Apart Bread) a try just to see how good the dough the machine makes. I was pleasantly surprised by the result, the dough was fantastic, I didn’t have to put too much effort in and my bread was delicious. You can easily make this dough with any stand, hand mixers or even by hand.

I wanted to make this Cheesy Pull Apart Bread with a little rye flour because rye flour is more healthy and nutritious than plain flour. Also just to make me feel better about my lifestyle choices and I could eat this cheesy goodness without any guilt! 😉

After I posted a picture on my Instagram stories I got so many requests for the recipe so here I am posting a recipe for both thermomix and non thermomix users.

Do give this recipe a try!

Ingredients:

  • 260g Plain flour
  • 60g Rye flour
  • 65 g butter
  • 2 eggs about 53-55g
  • 140 ml whole milk
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • 10g sugar
  • 10g Salt
  • 125g mild cheddar cheese finely grated
  • 60g parmesan cheese
  • 2 ½ tbsp butter for
  • 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Chilli flakes to taste
  • 2 sprig of thyme chopped

Instructions NON Thermomix:

Melt the butter. Heat the milk to 37C/98.6F add sugar, salt and yeast and to activate it for 10-15 minutes or till the mixture is frothy. Now add this mixture in the flour with eggs, knead in a standing mixer or with hand mixer or with hand. Keep the dough in the bowl to rise in a warm place for at least 1 hour or it becomes double in size.

For the stuffing melt the butter, add in the garlic, salt, black pepper, chilli flakes and thyme. Keep it aside.

Knock the risen dough, knead it for about 2 minutes to make a small round. Add the finely grated cheddar cheese and fold it in the dough properly. Make small balls about 40g each and line them in circles your baking tin. Spread the melted butter, garlic mixture on the top generously. Sprinkle the parmesan cheese.

Cover the pan with tea towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Bake it for 30-40 minutes in preheated oven on 180C/350F.

Serve warm!
