Place the pitted dates with soda in a bowl and add boiled water. Keep it for 10 minutes till the dates are nice and mushy. Transfer the bowl to the fridge to cool it dowm
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Coat the inside of the bundt tin/pan and keep it aside.
Mix the flour with baking powder, all the spices and salt.
Place butter and sugars in a standing mixer bowl and beat it with a paddle attachment till its fluffy. Add 1 egg at a time and continue to beat it till light.
Now add in the mashed banana, orange zest and cointreau. Mix it well.
Add the flour in 3 batches, and mix it combine. Do not over mix.
Add in the cream and mix it well.
Pour the batter in the coated tin. Sprinkle the walnuts on the top.
Bake it in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or till the toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
After the cake is baked, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes and then transfer it to wire rack.
If you desire then pour the orange juice and sugar glaze on the top. Serve with coffee.
