Linseeds and Groundnuts Chutney

Print this

Groundnuts or peanuts chutney is one chutney I ate almost everyday with my meals while I was growing up. My mum used to make a lot of combinations with groundnuts, such as garlic, dry coconut, linseeds (flaxseeds) and sometimes with fresh coconut too.

This particular one, Peanuts chutney made with linseeds or flax seeds is one of the healthy recipes. You get a lot of fibre and good fats from both ingredients.

If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you would know I absolutely love chutneys and it’s a big part of my Indian meals. There were some chutneys my mum used to make and I really used to loath them 😛 and one of those chutneys was this Linseeds or Flaxseeds and groundnuts or peanuts chutney. I never liked the taste as a kid and my mum would force us to eat it, but as I grew older I started liking it and of course for health reasons I started including it in my diet.

As we all know how linseeds are so good for health, specially for the heart health. It’s a great source of fibre and omega 3’s and mixing them with groundnuts, garlic is even better for health. Try this chutney with your Dal (lentils curry) and rice or with rotis. I am sure you will love it!
